The brakemen on the Consolidated
are now required to furnish six boards
for card players in the smoker, and are
forbidden to acceptlips from the pas-

Miss May, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Alexander Palmer, of East Norwalk,
and Wallace Bates Will be married to-
morrow evening at the bride’s home on ‘
the corner of East and Van Zandt ave-

Foster Bros, of Danbury, moved
into their Bell Island hotel to-day and
opened it up for the summer campaign.
A telephone has been placed in the
house and everything will soon be in
readiness for the reception of guests.
The Larchmont Yacht club has in-
duced C. Oliver Iselin to promise that
the cup defender now being built at
the Herre=~hotfs shall sail her first race
in the annual regatta, July 4. A special
prize, worth $500,‘has been offered for
a contest with the Vigilant.
The new steamboat for the New
York and Norwalk Steamboat company
which is to take the place of the old
City of Albany on the Norwalk route
this summer,'will be'towed to New
York next Monday anda trialtrip will
be‘ made on or about May 7. ‘ '
The Indian Harbor Yacht club wil[
open the. season on May 30, while a race
for special classes will be sailed on July
1, and the annual regatta held on July
27. The club has made arrangements
with Commodre E. C. Benedict to con-
tinue their lease of Finch’s_Island.
While playing yesterday afternoon
young Frank Britto accidently fell
into a well at his home on Pine street;
, The well was about twenty feet deep
and the boy was unable to get out and
it was feund necessary to lower a man
down to rescue the youngster, who was
considerably bruised. He was brought
to the surface safely, and is confined to
his bed to-day from the effects of his
fall and bath.

Nyack Postoflice Robbed.
NYACK, N. Y., April 24.——The Nyaok
bed of nearly $1,500 in money and postage
stamps. They gained entrance through a
back window and drilled a hole in the safe
alongside the combination. The bolts wu'e
then pulled back and the door opened.
Over $1,000 worth of stamps were taken
and more than $400 in cash, $261 of the
latter amountbeing for money orders.
