A Female Phrrlcide.
LOUISVILLE, July 19. —Mrs., T. F.
Mcagher, 32 years old, shot and killed her
lather, J 01m Ashbacker, today. Ashbacker
was abusing his wife when shot by his
daughter. He had beaten and kicked her
in an unmerciful manner. Mrs. Ashback-
or is now in bed and said to be dying from
a kick in the stomach inflicted by the
brutal husband. After the .murder Mrs.
Meagher drove to the-Fail with her hus-
band and gave herself up.

bett, better known as “Latch” Corbett,
committed suicide by hanging himself to
a beam in his barn loft with a bridle. He

BIRMINGHAM, Ala, July 19.—A11 is quiet
in the mining district today. It is now
known that two more strikers were
wounded in Monday’s battle at the Pratt
mines, one of whom has since died. Sev-
enty-five rloters are in jail, and Judge
Green and Governor J ones' have been in
conference all day in reference to holding
a special term of the criminal court for
the trial 0! the rioters.
Several Persons struck by Lightning.
DENVER, July 19.—Of four boys who
were fishing in Argo lake during,a thun-
derstorm James Burrell- was instantly
killed by a flash ofr. lightning, Robert
Henrywas paralyzed, and the other two
Were stunned. At Colorado Springs a
6-year-old..boy ,was struck by lightning,
and when picked up was found to be bad-
ly burned, tbtally blind and 'unconsoious.
