The case of John Hardy, vs. Prof. E. - H. Wilson, in which M r. Hardy was awarded a judgment of 315, has been appealed to the Superior Court at Bridgeport. Joseph Harvey and John Afonce were before Justice Barrett this morn- ing charged with assault and hr each of ‘ the peace. The Justice imposed a fine of $3 and costs each. Nine carrier pigeons were released from the depot platform yesterday noon. They were from New Haven, in which direction they went, immediate- ly after being released. . Dr. Bohannan dressed the injury. A horse, belonging to Mr. Graves of Marshall street, left the barn this morning and ran down to the Danbury railroad track, where he turned and ran down in front of alocomotive as far as the open lot near the Washing- ton street crossing, where he was stopped. The fire department will practice to- morrow night at 7 :45 o’clock. Box 14 will be pulled and the two companies will proceed to Solmau’ s Hat Factory where the ladders will be placed and other practice taken. One feature will be a race between the Hook and Ladder and Hose companies A gentleman and lady had a narrow escape from death at the Washington street crossing this morning.
