Winfield S. Lyon, was in town yes-
terday.

A new fire alarm box will hereafter ~

be located in the electric light station,
and will be known as box NO. 32.

Alderman Judson, attended the
convention of the Butchers’ Protective
Association at West Haven last night.

The 400 club met last evening at the
residence of Mr. and Mrs. Ch harles B.
Stevens, at their home on Fairfield
avenue.

Denton Seymour has resigned his
position as foreman of the making de-
partment of the South Norwalk Hat
Company.

Mr. Louis Sheldon, the good na-
tured and eflicient driver of Cavanagh’s
express, is ser1ously ill at his home on
South Main street.

The fourth of a series of sociables
given by Glover’s band, was held last
evening in the Old Congregational
chapel. It was well attended, and all
report hav me; had an excellent time.

Marketman Charles Smith, proprie-
tor of the Washington marketzon
Washington street, has closed his mar-
ket, discharged his help and made an
assignment 1n favor of the South Nor-
walk Beef Co.

Mr. Arthur Waterbury made his ap-
pearance on our streets yesterday for

the first time in nine weeks, when he
had his knee severely injured by fall-
ing from a car. rendering it impossible
for him to walk.

The South Norwalk Athletic Club
will hold their sociable at the club
rooms on Washington street this even-
ing. During intermission a pleasing

programme Dwill be given, including '

vocal solos by Messrs. Al. Austin and
George Nash, banjo selections by
Messrs. Mart Hartwick, and H B.
Miller and Mr. William Montgomery
in his little act with the tin wh1stle.
Besides these, the gymnasium class
will give an exibition on the parallel
and horizontal bars.
