“'11). 1. Stevens was busy making final
arriuigements to start on the following
day but he took the time to show us over
the line boat. The new steamer was
built in Stratford and is 95 feet long, :35
feet beam, 6; feet deep, and her mc'asui'c-
mtIlit is-hbout 100 tons. The engine and
boiler were made by Gibson 6; Elserer of
Brooklyn and are about 75 horse power.
The engine is the largest used on an oyster
boat. The boat will carry 52,000 bushels
of oysters below and 3.000 bushels on
the decks. In building the vessel every
detail has been studied to make it con-
venient and attractive. The large airy
cabin is finished in hard wood and on
the sides and end are arranged eight
pleasant bunks. On one side of the
stairs leading to the cabin is a large
refrigerator and on the other side is the
water closet. ‘ There is plenty of closet
room and the surroundings are as cosy
as though they were calculated to be
used by a large happy family. The
