The annual meeting of the Fairfield
tiniimy Medical society was called to m.
der at It) o‘clock Thursday. April 10th,
at the Atlantic hotel by the president.
Dr. George 1.. Porter of this city. The re.
Were 45 members of the society present.
I". l‘orter delivered an address on the
“Responsibility of the Medical Profess
NIH". Relative to the Medical Laws' of
" » State.“ The address was a fine one,
and one of the best etl‘orts for which the
doctor is noted. It contained many prac-
tical suggestions which. could they be
carried into etl‘ect. would be of lasting
benefit throughout the state. It is a la.
mentable fact that. many of our laws re-
garding sanitary regulations need a thor-
ough revision so that the defects in them
may be pointed out 'and remedied. and
the sooner the work can be accomplished
the better for the public. ‘
At the conclusion of the president’s ad-
dresfi. a business conunittee was appoint
