money of Wm. Budd, for the capture of the

Nine and a half millions of prize money

act to introduce water into the city. is that a
full report shall bu made by the Commis-
sioners at each annual City meeting. At
the coming meeting. which is shortly to be
held. it is the purpose of the Commissioners
to make it full and detailed report of flu-
commencement. progress and completion of
the works. This report will include one
from the Englncet-in-Chief. and one from
the 'l‘rcasurcr. The latter will show to
whom money was paid. and the particular

for trenching. laying the pipes and refilling
the trenches.
The first pipe was hid in Elizabeth street
Julv 26111.
The pipe was in have been delivered by
the 1st. of October. and the work to have
been Completed by the 131 day of Novem-
ber. but owinc to a failure. on the art of
the foundry to deliver the pipe wit in the
time agreed, some of the other work was
delayed a few days, Notwithstanding this
hindrance. WlilCl‘ was successfully introduc-

The following day a test was bad through
some of the tire ltydrnnts. and a number of
similar tests have since been made. all of
which have proven quite satisfactory.
From July 26. when the first pipe was
laid. to November 1st. when the water was
successfully introduced into the city. were
eighty-four working days, in which time
there wore 45,028 feet of pipe laid.
