Harbor Vlew's new bridge.

The exercises will commence when
the paras starts at 9:80 o'clock from
the club house. The itinerary will
take the marchers winding through
the streets. headed by a brass buns,
and back to the club house where
the flag_ presented by 'Mrs. Muc-
Greg”. will be hoisted and the ex-
erclscl started.
After the observance at the club.
the people will re-assomblo and
rocccd to the bridge where the
cdlcatlon programe will take place.
A display of fireworks will be shown
at the club house. at 9 o‘clock to-
night and the ceremonies will come
to a close. .

Despite Lateness of High
Tide the Beach Thronged
All Day Long
The largest bathing crowd so far
this season romned on Calf Pasture
beach yesterday throughout the day
in spite of adverse tides. The water
did not reach a comfortable high
spot until about 6:30 o'clock but that
made little difference to the bathcrs
for the two rafts were crowded all
day. Among the distinguished vis-
itors of the day was Mayor Thomas
Robins and party.
Policeman James Eldridge. pa-
trolled the beach. the first time it
has had police attention. Hundreds
of cars lined the sandy stretch and
the lots in back and large numbers
of visitors on the lower end of the
beach dressed in the cars or under
the corner of canvass stretched be-
tween.
The Celf Pasture Life Guard
corps were on duty in full force but
had no occasion to effect a rescue.
One boy was treated at. the head-
quarters for an injured leg. Through
the courtesy of Mr. and Mrs. Louis
Cummings of Plait street. the corps
has been supplied with a phonograph
to take the place of the one ruined
during the winter when the house
was broken into. The corps wishes
to publicly thank the donors.

tion of Cove avenue. one of the main
thoroughfares to the spot. has be-
come a subject of mention by pe-
destrians and tmprecations by me-
torists. From First street to Fifth
the road is pitted and peck-marked
with holes deep enough to cause
broken springs if the motorists are
careless.
The beach was the scene of re-
ligious observance of the day and
centennial yesterday when at sun—
rise group of more than 20 mem-
bers f the Swedish Congregational
churc stood on the sands to greet
the arm The party arrived at
Calf Pasture. on foot and in auto-
mobil' fully half an hour before
the su came up at 5:28 o'clock.
