Secretary Hoover devoted his ad-
dress to social as well as economic
developments in American business
and industry in the past quarter
century.

country is not perfect. Secretary
Hoover tound the state of American
industry salutary. with progress
being made "in our own way" in
this country in the relations of cm-
ployer and employs and in the

ica," regarded as an authoritative
work On transportation, Seymour
Dunbar. an itinerant newspaper
Worker, disappeared. A ten-year
starch by the Bobbs Merrill publish-
ing company has failed to locate
him.
The company expects to repub-
lish the history and desires that it. be
brought up to date.
Dunbar came to the publishing
‘house in 1909 and showed to Hew-
itt Howland. editor at that time, a.
collection of 400 book plates, deal-
ing with American transportation
from the eighteenth century. Col-
lecting book plates was a hobby with
and commissioned Dunbar to write
a history to go with them.

beck family. Neighbors finding that
the roof of the Averbeck home was
burning. called the house by tele-
phone. AII six members of the fam-
ily were sound asleep. but Henry
Averback heard the telephone bell.
The family. including two small

the blaze. which entirely destroy-
