iand Motor Car Company as a com-
panion to the Oakland Six. has been
placed on display by James C}.

new Pontiac is being made in two
body types. a five-passenger coach
and a. two-passenger coupc. Both
models list at 8825.
The Pontiac Six appears destined
V to take a place with the leaders. It
fully lives up to the advance no-
tices previously printed about it. It
is a car of characteristic General
Motors' quality. T h e beautiful
Fisher built bodies with rich fittings
and the lustrous Duco finish in two
colors belie the fact that the Pontiac
is one of the lowest priced six-cylin-
den cars on the market.
Mechanically and in structural de-
sign the some attention to quality

is of the six-cylinder. L-head type
with a host of advanced features
. which are noteworthy in a car of

It is a. moderate
speed type. which is best suitcd for
long life and endurance. with 81-4

operated by a pump located under
the level of the oil. so that it is self
priming and protected against freez-
ing in winter weather. Oil passages
are continuous from one and o! the
crankshaft to the other. thus insur-
ing equal pro-are to all main beer-
ings. Piston pins cylinder walls.
valve stems and lifters and odm
shaft bearings are lubricated by the
oil spray. thrown off from the crank-
shaft.
The cooling system comprises a '
Harrison radiator and a water pump
with adjustable belt driven from the
front end of the crank shaft. Water
circulates through large passages
completeli surrounding all cylinders
and valve ports.
Saline. clutch and truest-m
are in one unit. The clutch is or
single platc disc typo. operated by
eight coil springs, and has a graphite
throw-out hearing which requires no
lubrication. Transmission gears are
0! chrome vanadium steel. with
three speeds forward and one re-
verse.
The intake manifold is specially
constructed to give perfect combus-
tion to all cylinders. Its design
minimizes the danger of crankcase
dilution. and has a bee tcontrol
valve which ma; be adjusted for
warm or cold weather.
