Why do I believe in NorWalk?

I think it would be a poor man who could conduct a busi-
ness here without belief 1n the town.

Recently I made a trip to Florida, and while there I thought
a good deal about its amazing progress. ‘

I am satisfied that it 1s only due to the faith and courage of
the people there, that Florida has grown so rapidly. They believed
in their shore fronts, and their towns—their real estate values, and
their businesses, and because they believed it was so, it became a
fact.

Florida, apart from climatic advantages (and disadvan-
tages) has nothing better to offer than have we in N orwalk. It
has beautiful shore properties— but we have them here in Nor-
walk, too. We have our fine residential spots, and bathing
beaches. We also have good transportation facilities by rail and
water.

We have advantages that Florida has not, that is, from a
business man’ s point of view. W e are in the center of a power de-
velopment area, and in the line of supply of raw materials. ..

Why, then, does Florida grow?
Because of- the faith of its people.

So too, in Norwalk, any future growth must come from
within the town—from our citizens themselves. We- have facili-
ties here that are equal to any, and, in fact, the question is not,
“shall we grow?” but rather, “wh at can prevent us from growing?”
