stewed tomatoes. salt. pepper. pap-

down and bake 45 minutes. Svrvu

nine o'clock the truck was not able

An alert. telephone girl in the local
exchange brought about. the rescue
of an aged woman and three other
persons It I. fire in thiI' city yester-
day. Ruth Stout. I night operator in
the exchange, noticed a flashing sig-
nal on her switchboard. When she
failed to receive a'reply. out heard
taint calls of “Fire." she summoned
the firemen. v
. Mrs. Elizabeth Btodder. 92 years
old. wasIcarried uy firemen from her
burning home. Her brother, Ed-
ward. 75 years old. and o. nurse and
maid also were rescued.-
