lar condition in other high schools.

Yet. does it not seem absurd that
a hey or girl leaves high school with
a knowledge of the dates and re-
sults or the Crusades. tor instance.
yet does not know the name of the
Governor of the State in which she
or he lives? is the student edu-
cated it he knows all about the
Franco-German war of 1810. yet is
ignorant of the fact that French
troops are now on German soil?
It. is true that more and more at-
tention is being given in colleges
and advanced high schools to the
happenings 9! today. Current his-
tory study is being developed rapid-
ly. progress has been made. but the
advancement has not boon sutfleieht.
Such instruction is not a "tad" nor
a. ”trill." It may not be as absolute
necessity. but it is certainly vaiuv
