Family Reunion.
DETROIT. July :1.—Henry Ford
celebrated his sixtieth birthday yester—
day by remaining away from his pri-
vate workshop at his Dearborn auto-
mobile plant. It was understood that
his plans called for dinner with the
son Edsal.
Mr. Ford successfully dodged inter-
viewers who desiré‘d'“ to question him
concerning the busineu outlook. the
international situatpn and a variety
of other subjects.
Mr. Ford. however, said he was Just
beginning to feel of some use to hu-
manity. as he believes that a man
does not reach a stage where his
judgement is sound until he is well
into the fifties, and when he is in the
sixties. Ford believes, he can do his
most useful work if his health Is
sound.
He said he believes the most useful
work man can do is to build some-
thing that will improve the morale of
any community. and his forte. he is
convinced, is that of manufacturing.
With this in view he has turned all
his energies toward “harnessing wat-
er power," which he says will provide
wealth. employment and happiness in
any community.

no end of fun. You see they felt

stopping every moment or so to look

before in their lives.
Early one morning they started a
game“ of hide and seek and Danny
was “it." You know that means he
was the one who was trying to find
the other. He had been just a little
slow in starting after Nanny. and he
hadn’t seen in which direction she
went. He didn’t doubt in the least
that she was hiding in one of the
many pockets of that old scarecrow.
So be started out to look in every
pocket.
She wasn't in any of the pockets
of the old trousers. She wasn't in
any of the outside pockets of the old
coat. Thea Danny remembered that
the old coat had an inside pocket.
"That’s where she is," said Danny
to himself. “I’ll steal up very softly
and give her a scarce"
So Danny climbed very softly. tak-
ng care not to rusflea single straw
of the inside of the scarecrow, until
he was where he could jump quite
suddenly en the outside of that
pocket. Then he! Jumped. He lauded
against that pocket with a little
