Norwslk Enthusiastic As Regent and
Palace Presents Elmer Clifton's
Cinema of Whaling Life.
Norwallr aroused itselh yesterday
and in large numbers went "Down to
the Sea in Ships." Literally. this hap-
pened and so far as possible it act-
ually happened for some several hun-
dreds of Norwalkers attending the
presentations at the Regent and Pal-
ace theatres followed every moment's
action in the gigantic cinema. master-
piece. “Down to the Sea in Ships"
and lived through the thrills or this
great picture as did the principals.
Not for a single moment was there a
break in the interest and it was not
possible with a. photodrama or such
dynamic force as this one which
Elmer Clifton has given to the pub-
lic. From the opening scenes of the
picture and through the tense mo-
ments of high see. action in which the
life of the whalcrs was depicted with
realistic romance every move was
carefully followed and Regent and
Palace patrons time and again lost
them and gave concrete evidence of
their appreciation in outbursts of en-
thusiasm. The only regret that may
he expressed is that "Down to the
Sea in Ships" will remain in Norwalk
only two days longer. \Vhen the en-
gagement closes at the Regent and
Palace Friday night. those who have
‘Ynot availed themselves or the oppor-
tunity to see it will indeed have oc-
casion to regret. for theirs will be a
real loss. Manager David Ester-son
was showered with congratulations
yesterday and he will receive many
more before this picture concludes its
run.
