So Say Opponents to Law Proposed in Ohio

The injusticeot impOsing a gasoline
tax on motorists is being proclaimed
by the Ohio State Automobile Asso-
ciation in its endeavor to prevent pas-
sage of such a lav/gin this state.
The law. it passed, \Yould collect a
tax of 2 cents for every gallon of gas-
oline bought by the auto driver. Ohio
would be the eighteenth state in which
such a tax is imposed.
The arguments advanced against
this form of taxation include the fol.
lowing. in a. statement h} Fred H.
Coley of Cleieland. president of the
Ohio State Automobile Association.
"The gasoline tax burdens the poor
and favors the rich. For instance, as-
suming that each 01' the following
