plows. sweepers and salt cars, also
for operation of sand cars.vwhen such»

Seniority Rights.
15 (a) All conductors and motor-
men will be allowed passenger car
runs according to seniority of con-
tinuous service and the bidding in
system shall prevail, the superinten-
dent reserving the right to change al-
lotments. requiring a man to bid
some other run, if necessary. for the
good of the service.
(b) If the company desires, for the
benefit of the service. to prohibit a.
man from continuing on any specific
run at the next bidding-in, he shall be
advised of this fact. at least four ,(4)
days before the bidding-in of runs.
, ( c) If a conductor or motorman is
refused a run he desires to bid-in and
is entitled to by his seniority of ser
vice. the reason or reasons for such
retusal will be given upon applica-
tmn by the man or by the committee
regularly representing the men,
. (d) Mptormen desiring runs on ex-
press sprinkling 'or work cars (or on
time cars. if motormen are used on
same) may apply to the superintend-
ent prior to any bidding-in day. A
separate list‘ of these sprinkling. ex—
press. work and line cars (it motor-r
men are used on some) will be posted

The agreement also stipulates that
conductors or motormen, desiring to

of the superintendent will be allowed
to see it on application. while a com-
mittee representing the employee may
also have access to the records cover—
fing misses, accidents and general in-
lro’ctlons of rules. Suspension on com‘
plaint of passenger or other person
not employed by the company will be
made only after thorough investiga-
tion. An'employee charged with this
conduct shall have the right to obtain
witnesses and an adjournment of
three days to secure evidence. A
copy of changes will be given in writ-
ing on request. No unfavorable rec-
ord shall be entered without a con-
ductor or motorman having a hearing.
No Loss for Bad Coins. .
Aside from the above stipulation in
the company’s agreement it is also
specified that conductors or motormen
suspended. if found not guilty after
investigation will be reinstated to for-
mer position and rating with payment
for all lost time. Employees may not
be reprimanded in such a way as to
attract attention of passengers of
bystanders. Conductors shall not be
held responsible for bad coins which
they could not reasonably be expected
to detect and they shall not be charg-
ed with the loss. Conductors wnilo
engaged in checking up currency.

Employees will be paid for time while
attending courts or inquests at re-
quest of the company. .
4 Light Uniforms Allowed.
Under the agreement conductors or
thin material of uniform pattern will
be allowed to wear black costs during
warm weather and motormen’ will be
allowed to wear/similar coats or dark
blue blouses. '
Other concessions which the trol
laymen have long desired are included

Shop Workers Agreement.
'Workers in shops. carhouSes and
power stations in Hartford. Manches-
ter. New Haven, Derby, Waterbury,
‘and New Britain are allowed a 20 per
cent increase. A day’s work will be
nine hours when men are paid on an
hourly basis: the elghthour day will
be in operation in the Hartford and
New Haven power stations. Former
sex-vies men returning to the company
will receive their old rating, rubber
boots and coats and other articles.
Wrecking cars will be equipped with

ployees broken or worn out in com.
pany service will be replaced. A re-
viving list will be used so that all em-
