Girls“ Club \i'ork.-Tcn periods of
instruction were given to a home ec-
onomics club at thirty girls in New
Caannn. An exhibit. and picnic were
held. Mothers reported the work to
be of great practical value in the
homes.
Junior canning kitchens were run
in three echoois of Stamford, one of
Greenwich and one of Darien. for all
children who wiahed to come. Twenty
tel atendance 367: 117 children roach-
ed. and 1,000 quarts canned at the
kitchens. (This does not include
Mrs. Lohmeycr's junior kitchen at
Minnus, which was merely visited and
kept supplied with equipment). Home
visits by the agent and volunteers
were made to sixty-eight of these
children. and the mothers took plen-
sure in almost every one in showing
well-stocked shelves. Junior canning
exhibits were held. and eight prizes
were secured out at eight entries
made at the State lair. Demonstra-
tion teams were trained in three
towns. and the Stamford team gave
tour demonstrations in the schools
and competed at the State fair.
Help was given in reorganizing
three community kitchens, which
canned 30.000 quarts. and nine day"
lrectlon and supervision were given
