The southern storm has moved
northeastward and is now central pver
Kentucky. It has decreased in intens-
ity, but the rain is covering a much
larger area. Rain has fallen during
the last 24 hours from the Gulf north-
ward to the Lake region and from thc‘
Mississippi River eastward to the
coast. The front edge of the rain area
had reached Philadelphia at 8 o'clock1
this morning. Several places report-
ed more than an inch of rain. The
greatest amount reported was 2.76
inches. at Louisville, Ky. The temper-l
atureo-aro rising in the central sec-
tiono,'but continue low along the
northern border. ‘Frosts were report-
cd from Vermont.
