in spite of the titre-atoning aspect of
the weather. oxtr tour hundred mem-
bers of the East mentte church and
their friends made incrryQ-ttst evening
on the lawn ot the ('llUIt'll und parson-
age. The lawns were most beautifully
illuminated with brilliant uiet'lt‘lc
lights, and the some presented was
indeed a pretty one. ice cream and
cake. lemonade and candy Were on
sale. and they found ready buyers.
Excellent mosic was trttdercd by l’un-
xolt's band. of south Norwalk. This
feature of the evening‘s entertainment
was an especially enjoyable one. The.
music was fine and was received \Y.itl1
much applause. The alfttir proved to
be a very interesting and pleusttntono
til the way through. The festival was
"given for the benefit of the church by
the otlicial board, under the direction
of the pastor. Rev. .l’. Fairbanks.
