Wlllium P. Hoyt, a Dnnbnrian. and a
veteran of the late civil war, died at
1 the Soldiers’ Home, in Noroton, yester-
day morning at 1 o’clock. lie was
seventy four yems of age Death was
caused by a complication of troubles
combined with his advanced age He
had been sellously ill less than 11
month. however, for when he was in
Danbury in June on a visit be was ap-
parently in fairly good health. He was“
taken ill soorr‘al’ter returning to the
home and lulled gradually until the
end. Mr. Hoyt had been a resident
at the Soldiers' Home about twelve
years. ‘ He enlisted from Dun'bury,
which was his native town ill Com-
pany B, 'I‘wenii'~ third regiment Con-
necticut Voluntceis and sewed as a
private. M1 Hovt was a member of
Church
Dsnbnl'y and attended its services
whenever he went to the city to visit.
He is survived only by one daughter,
Mrs. Eli M. Bailey. of 27 Town lilli
avenue, Danbury. The funeral service}
will be held at ‘2. o‘clock Thursday at
the residence of E. M. Bailey, and the
interment will be in Wooster, ceme-
