Regarding the plumbing fixtures
used in the pavilion._i would say first
in my judgment it would be hard at
the present day to improve upon thorn.
For outside pavilions, located as the
present ones are, with insufficient or
no heat. it would be absolutely not of
the question to use for the children in-
dividual whteluclosct fixtures as they
would give trouble every winter from

The automatic troughs placed in
those pavilions are oi‘ a very good
make. and are working satisfactory. cx-

girls‘ pavilion where a good deal of un-

considerably during the long use. and
does not, perhaps, present as inviting
an appearance as it should, but thcrc

the individual portions of the trough

The improvements which I think
‘ought to be carried out at this time are
the following:
Fine—The two cold air boxes of the
heating apparatus should be extended
at least 20 feet away from the present
asnitsrles. This can be readily done
with galvanized sheet metal boxes.
which should be extended first verti’
daily to the height of the side entrance
roofs and then carried horizontally,
of the same sectional area as the pre-
sent. cold air boxes. to the extreme
ends of the entrance roofs. if the cold
air inlet. of the heating apparatus is
thus changed the danger of drawing
any foul air from the ssnitaries is
very remote and to all practical pur-
poses entirely removed.
Second-4 advise! that two 18 or 20
inch “Star” or "Globe" galvanised
sheet iron ventilators be pla‘ced in
the roof of each of the present. suni‘
tsrles and extended downward to the
ceiling of each apartment.
Third-4n the case of the boy's sunl-
inry I advise that the first six courses
of brick from the ground level up. he
pointed up with cement in the joints.
and that a rendering of cement be car-
ried all around the walls to the height
slated,
Fourth-4 advise that the same ren-
dering of cement be carried on the in.
side walls around, also in the vesti-
bule to a height of perhaps 38 inch-
rises from the floor level.
Fifth-w! advise that all the Wooden
seats be reneWed, using plain pine
seats.
Sixth—l advise that the inside of all
the watercloset troughs be cleaned,
scraped and painted with at least two
coats of white loud and two coats of
white enamel paint,
Seventh—4 also suggest that means
he applied at the seats nearest to the
flushing inlet of the trough so as to
ovcrcom the present splashing and
wetting of the seats.

the slightest hestitation in stating that
the present toilet room arrangements
will he sanitary and answer for the
present school term.

For the ventilation of thc new build-
ing the old brick chimney is avail-
able and should be utilized. The

up on the side walls and on the inner
line of fixtures. it may become noc-
cssury to usel in the roof one or two-
skyllghts for the better lighting of that
part of the room which docs not re-
cclvc direct, light from windows. Suf-
ficient. light should be provided in
such places to insure a proper use and
the maintenance of cleanliness at the
fixtures.
