Mr. Jobp Wheeler, M’Saugatuck, lost a
valuable but last week, worth about $500,

Rev. J. Eaton Smith delivered an interest-
ing discoure on the subject of Music at the
Memorial-Church last Sunday evening. It
will bear repeating.

milled in Southport 7th inst. Capt. G. B.
Allen came from New York with $2300 in
his pocket cxpeéting to invest the money in

he fell asleep and when he awoke found he
had lost two $500 dollar bills. A detective
from Bridgeport was employed to work tip
the case and ferret out the guilty parties. A .
reward of two hundred dollars is offered by
Mr. Ailen for the recovery of his money.
GREENFIELD.—Th0mas Wood, aged about
60 years, cornmittled suicide last Friday
morning, 10th inst. He rose about 5 o‘clock

His daughter, who keeps house for him, af-
ter- getting breakfast and waiting for him
