Dissolve one box of Lye in 2 1-2 pounds (pints)
of hot water, in an iron pot. Melt in another 01
or pan 5 lbs of clean fat or grease. Take off the re,
and into this stir slowly the dissolved lye, and keep
sti lug until the whole becomes well mixed and
ii classes, New cover up, and set. in a warm
place over night. Next'day cut into small pieces,
add6 lbs (or pints) of water. and melt with a gentle
heat until the soap is all dissolved, then pour into
a tub to cool. When co (1, cut into bars, which will
be lit to use in about 10 nys.

hand to sustain him.
For sixteen you the Huron Doc'ron has been
manufactured and sold, and every year has increased
the value of its reputation, and the amount of its
sales. In New Hampshire, where it was origina-
ted,no remedy for Humor: is so highly prized. An
eminent physician (now an army surgeon,) when
practicing in N. H. purchased between fifty and six-
ty gallons of it, during some seven or eight years,
and used It in his practice. He has since then or-
dered it for the Hospital where he was stationed.
Other physicians have purchased it, and have used
it In practice with perfect success. .When the pro-
prietor lived in New Hampshire, at Golf‘stown Cen-
tre, for the space of thirty or forty miles around,
and in Manchester particularly, the Humor Doctor
was well known and highly valued for the numer-
ous and wonderful cures which it efl‘ected. Though
manufactured in large quantities, the supply was
frequently exhausted, and purchasers had to wait
for more to be made. In that region some very se-
vere cases of Eryupelar were treated with it, and
flag wars cured. Erynipelas sores, or Carbuncles
those ugly painful ulcers, were entirely removed,
wherever this medicine was faithfully used. So it
was with Scrofhla and Salt Rheum. The Humor
Doctor cured them.
Since the Proprietor‘s removal to Melrose. Mass,
his present residence, he has been regularly selling
It to patients who have applied to him in person,
and has been very successful in relieving and curing
them. One case of Erysipelas—of an old man 72
years—is worth mentioning in particular. When he
came to the Doctor‘s office he could only wear a pair
of old rubber overshoes his feet and ankles were so
swollen and lore. When he pulled otfbis socks the
scabs came with them, and the raw bleeding feet
were frightful to behold. Suffice it to say, that less
than one dozen bottles of the Humor Doctor (and in
a few weeks) healed up these feet and ankles, so
that they were smooth and apparently sound. The
man were boots without inconvenience. Numerous
cases of pimp!“ in thefaca have been treated with -
this medicine, to the entire eradication of them. In
Melton alone, there are more than a hundred per-
sons who have used the Humor Doctor, and give it
an excellent name. In all the towns around it "is
well known and approved.
For the sake of showing what is thought of it, a
few testimonials are here inserted :—
