The College term commenced Thursday.—
We learn that about 130 applicants have been
admitted to the Freshman Class; The num-
ber applying this year was unusually large. ,
of whom a much larger proportion than usual
were rejected, the Faculty being obliged from
year to year to raise the standard of prepara-
tion required for admission.
