by any means to still secure a large crop
of tomatoes. They may even be grown
from the seed after this date, but the bet-
ter plan is to procure a quantity of plants
and set them ottt in any spare corners of
the gauien and in the field. Tiiey may be
planted between the rows of early corn or
potatoes. It is needless to say anything
in comitiendaiion of them as an article of
human food, but we think they will yet
be used extensively as thod for stock.——

the great bulk obtained from a very small
surface ground, we have reason to doubt

last season he boiled a bushel a day, with

and squashes, and fed five cows upon the
mixture. The result was a large increase
in milk, and a peculiarly rich flavor and
color of the butter. A friend at our elbow
says he has led tomatoes, both cooked and
raw to his cows and hogs, with the hap-
piest. success.
