ting in, or which may hereafter be enacted by
' any of the'United States,-other than this State,

A or shall be-imposed upon any insuraiice company
or companies incorporated by or organized under
the laws of this State,and transacting business
in such other State. or upon the agents of any
such insurancecompany or companies, then so
long as such law or laws shall continue in force,

ments, obligations and requireinents, which un-
der such ,-law or laws, are or shall be iinposed up- '
on any insurance company or ‘companies of this
State, shall be imposed upon all in~iurance.com-
panics doing business in this State, which are
incorporated by, or organized niider the laws of
such other State, or "States, and upon :all agents
of such insurance companies. And such insu-
rancc company or their agents, shall from and
after the first day of October next, _be liable to
pay the same taxes‘, fines aiidpeiialties, to _make
the same deposits and statements, and be in_ all
respects, under and subject to the same obliga-
lions and requirements, as are or shalloe impos-
ed upon any of the insurance companies of this
State, or upon their agents, by the State, by. or
under the laws of which, said company is incor-

such other State, any insurance company incor-
porated bv,or.organized under the laws_of this
State, or its agents, is or shall be required-to
make any deposit, oaths or statcmeiitsto any of-
ficer ofsaid State, not known or e.\‘t5lltig in this
sum’ or ,-0 pay any taxes. fines or penalties to
such ofliccr, then and in every suchcase’, them-
nurance companies of such State. or their agents,,
doing business in this State, shall make the same
deposits with, andstatements to the comptroller

Size. 3. It shall not be lawful for any person
to act within this State, as agent or otherwise.

manner to aid in transacting the business of any
insurance company or companies, not incorpora-

taxes, in connection with the act for the assess-
ment andjcollection of taxes, passed May session,
'1851,—"wheret'ore, for the purpose of removing
said doubts,

Representatives in General Asseiiibly

That the true intent and meaning of said six-
‘ly-lixth‘ and-si'xty'-seventh sections. is that school
<d_i_stricta have, and shall continue to have, the
power and authority tolevy such taxes, as are
mentioned in said sixty-sixth section, on all the
real estate situate therein, and that no deduction
: or abatement shall be made by reason of the in-
debtedness of the owner_ or owners of the same,
in the amount to be levied upon said real estate.
