of your Compound Tomato Pills. You must e aware
that, like our profession generally, I am prejudiced
gainst all remedies usually denominated “ atcnt. medi-
cines,” but liearing your Pills highly exto led by some
of my friends, I was induced to procure a few boxes and
give them a trial; and this I was the more inclined to
do, from my intimate knowledge of, and confidence in,
your moral and professional character.

I have rescribed your Pills in cases of bilioua afi'ec-
tions, an diseases of the liver and stomach, and the re-
sult has been hi hly satisfactory. In one case particu-
larly. of severe yspeptic symptoms, the relief exceeded
my mos.‘ sanguine expectatioris.

Jud ing from the recipe, as it was communicated to me,
I sliou d think your compound would be safe in all cases,
and applicable to most of those in whieli it is recom-
mended.

I take tne more pleasure in writing to you on this sub-
ject, because I understand that great efforts have been
made by persons interested in another medicine, to tru-
diice your character as a gentleman, and it Pnyaiciim
and to injure the sale of your medicine, and wrest from
you the benefits of your labors and investigation, by
charging you with imposition, quackcry, &e.
