Row at Coburg. U. C'.—The Coburg Star
gives an account of a riotous proceeding at that
place on the 8th. The Reformers bad a meet-
ing at that place and marched in procession
bearing standards, inscribed ‘ Durham and Re-
form.’ It seemsthat afterihey were collected
together, a band oforangemen and British offi-

- cers, assaulted them with sbillelalis. &C- and
demanded the surrcnderof the flags. '1‘his_wos
refused, am] an attempt being made. to force
them. one of the bearers presented a pistol and
-attempted twice to fire it. He was seized. li_0r-
ribly mangled, attd carried olftlte ground. 1 he
flags were seized attd torn to pieces and trampled
under foot. ’

After the first meeting was broken tip. a new
atta'ck'was made itpon the Reforutcrs. One was
pursuetl in his wagon, who fired twice on his
piirsuers. Neither shot, the Star says, took cf-
tect. ‘

One man was seized and rode upon a rail, and
others, the Star says, ‘took shelter under heaps
of shavings, in c_el,lars, iii the, woods, and iii the
rushes on the lakeshore; and sliottld aity more
Durham flags be hoisted, we trust there are Bri-
tish artns enough to level tlietn to the ground,
and drive the rebels front the field.’

from a Loudoit letter in the Quebec Gazette,
dated Jutte |2:. "

‘I think you may take it as certain, thata
special convention has either left this couttiry, or
will speedily be sent to America. for arranging
the basis ofa settlentcnt oftlte disputes with tltc
government oftlte Utiit-ed States. relative to the
bjundary question.

‘ Her Majesty's advocate. Sir John Dodson.
has for some time. been engaged itt drawing up
this convention, which I aitt told, is in strict coit-
formity with the instructions sent to the Anteri-
can Minister at our court. The other mention-
ed facts. I am not at liberty to cottiiutitticttte.—
But I think the knotty point is in a fair train of

spend a few days at the Falls, which he now

sures have been taken for tendering him, in
a becottiing manner the liospitalities of our
city. Although it is understood. that Mr.
Clay wishes to avoid all public display, we
trust our citizens will be afforded an oppor-

-tunity of exchanging salutations with one

fully "appreciate. We learn that he intends
being in town on \Vcdnesday, and will re-
main through the day. On Thursday he
will return to the Falls, and soon after will

manufacturing a combustible liquid, which
will burn more brilliant than oil—aud which
