T HE important discovery ofavegetablesub-
stance,capable of restoring and preserving
tlIe,hair, was accidentally made by an individ-
ual who has Iieither the capacityaior the dis-
position to practice deception or fraud. The
fullest reliance may be placed on the efficacy
and power of the Vegetable Cerate, Iiot only
in restoring and preventing the falling offthe
hair, but in producing the greatest lustre and
liveliiiess ofit imaginable ; and the public may
rest assured thatits effects will be clearly man-
ifested in the course of a short time by the re-
newal and vigorous growth of the hair, and
byeffectually preventing its coming out or fan-
ing off. The vegetable cerate tends to resus-
citate and excite the energies of the capillary
vessels, which constitute those organs that se-
crete the matter forming the hair; these, like
many other organs of the animal body which
have been in a state of dormancy or disease,
maybe restored to their healthy action, and
perform all those functions assigned them by

judging the inhabitants ofthis State, and their
property, to be in danger from Mad Dogs, do,
pursuant to the provisions ofa statute of this
state, entitled “ An act for preventing mis-
chiefby dogs,” order that from henceforth for
the term of two months from this date, all
dogs owned by any person, or persons, belong-
ing to this town or found in this town, shall
confined in some secure place or bya chain,
on the penalty prescribed by the statute afore-
