VALUABLE and elegant sit-
. nation in Darien, Ct. a mile
anda half east of Stamford, in a
pleasant and healtliy place, possessing nuuie~
rous advantages, some of which will be eiiu-
merated. ' It consists of a large two story
house, with five convenient rooms on the
ground floor, and five above, containing in
all six fire places. Also, one convenient
dwelling house with three rooms, within a
few rods of the othei' house. The conven-
iences of this situation are numerous and
great, either for the accommodation of a pri-
vate family, or for a genteel boarding house,
as the neighbourliood is a place of resort for
mauy gentlenren and ladies from New-York,
especially during the warm season. A good
Grocery is kept witliin fifty rods of the house,
and fish of various discriptions can be had at
the door every day. Said dwelling houses
are situated about twenty rods south of the
Stage road from New-York to Boston, and
about one mile frorii Holly’s Mills, at the
head of the salt water pond belonging to said
mills, and coiumandiiig a handsome prospect
ofthe mills, and likewise of Long Island and
the Sound. The pond or basin is three or
four miles in circiiiiifercuce, abounding with
fish oftiilferent kinds, and is a safe and coin-
modious place for sailing either for pleasure
or heaith. Said dwelling liouses are within
aniile and a half of Rings End Landing,
where two vessels ply regularly twice a week
to and from New-York, affording cvery ac-
commodation either for freight or passage.
The Homestead contains about two acres, on
which are the two houses above described,
with a good barn and convenient out houses;
an excellent garden containing currants,
raspberries, and strawberries; a well of ex-
cellent water within a few feet of the door,
either to drink or for washing ; and a variety
of fruit trees, comprising winter and fall pip-
pins, pears, peaches, plumbs, cherries 82c.
Also eight acres of land situate about one
fonrtli ofa mile froui the lioinestead, contain-
iug a handsome young orchard of excellent
fruit, and fenced with stone wall into small
inclosures, suitable for pasturiug; but may
be improved either for mowing or ploughing.
Said‘laud is on a corner fronting two public
roads, both leading to good landing places,
and valuable for a building place. The sub-
scrilier being about to remove to New-Jersey,
will dispose of one or two excellent cows, if
desired, a pleasure boat, and some other arti-
cles ofcoiiveniencc as may suit the purchaser.
An indisputable title and immediate possess-
