whenever any town in this state shall incur ex-
pense in relieving or supporting any sick and in-
digent person or persons, not inhabitants of this
state, and who do not belong to any town in this
state, and are by law not the propel‘ charge there-
of, or of any particular person, sutrh town shall
be entitled a reimbursement out of the treasury
of this state, at a.,rate not exceetling in any case
the sum of one dollar per week for all persons
over fourteen years of age, and fifty cents for
children under fourteen years of age.

shall be entitled to such reiinbmsemrnt for the
support ofany person born in this state, or an ad-
joining state, or of any person who shall licl‘ct0-
fore at any time have been an inhabitant of any
town in this state.

troller of this state be, and he is hereby fully au-
thorised and empowered, from time to time, to
contract nith any person or persons. for any term
of time, not exceeding five years, for the relitf
and support of any such sick and indigent per-
sons, on the best terms not exceeding the sums
specified in the first section, and such person or
persons, so Contracting, shall be €l’l5lllt:‘(llU1‘t:C€lVC
at the end of every six !T10l‘ill‘.S, the amount due
on such contract. And the Comptrollei‘ is here-
by authorised at his discretion, to take from any
town in this state, the whole, or any part of the
state paupers in said town, and place the same

tract for their support may have been made. as
aforesaid, and adjust all demands arising under
said contract, and draw oi‘dct"s on the Treasurer

tract shall be made by the Comptroller, ii iii: any
person or persons, for the support of state pau-
pers, agreeably to the provisions of this act, it
shall be the duty ofthe Comptroller to take good
and svifficient bonds with surety of the person or
persons, who shall make such contract, to secure
the faithful fulfilment and performance thereof,
and that the persons of whom such contractor or
contractors, shall have charge, shall be treated
with humanity, and shall have a competent stip-
ply of food, and decent and comfortable clothing,
and all necessary medical aid and physic in time
of sickness.
§ 5. Be z'.'._fzn'tlzer enacted, That all the provis-
ions of any acts of this Assembly now in force,
relating to the support of state paupers, whicli
are inconsistent with the provisions of this act,
be, and the same are hereby repealed.

der the sale of real estate ol Minors.
Be it enacted by the Sc-m.!e and Hau-<'c of Rr,"ire-
sentatives in Cveneral .'I.s.s-mnbly corrvcned, That the
several courts of probate be, and they are liereby
authorised, for just and reasonable cause, to order
the sale of real estate of any minor, on applica-
tion of the parent and guardian of such minor,
and to empower him, or some other meet person,
to sell and convey the samc,in due form of law ;
such parent, guardian, or other person, first giv-

his successors in office, with condition to vest the
avails of the estate sold in other real estate, to be
conveyed to such minor, to place the same at in-
terest, on good security by mortgage, of at least
double the value of the estate sold, or to lay out
the same in the nurture, education or advance-
ment in marriage of such m_ii.-or, as the court of
probate shall direct or approve, and to render his
account to such court when 1‘-‘:qtl1|‘t(l, or to the
minor, when arrived at full age ; and it shall be
the duty of the person making a sale under the
provisions of this act, to" make return of his pro-
ceedings, as soon as may be, to the court of pro-
bate, where the samc shall be recorded.
