SOME TlMELY FASHIONS.

A Stylish Silk Blouse for \Vomen and 3
Useful Dress for Misses.

The stylish silk blouse pictured here is
taken from Harper’s Bazar, which gives
this description of it:

This white silk blouse is Shirred full on
the shoulders and at the waist. The neck
is cut across in a shallow square, barred
with a. band of embroidery, from ‘which
'three inserted points descend. The belt

 

is of similar embroidery with the points
ascending, and the wrists are bordered to
match. A double iuflie edges the back of
the neck and the 111 niholes, and three
ruffles—three, five, and six inches deep—
form a basque.

Misses’ Dress.

This dress, with full skirt and straight
lower edge, is for girls from eight .to six-
teen years of age. It is from the Delinea-
- tor, which says that pretty effects are
chieved with thin materials, and then
ives this particular description:

The dress here represented is, made of
' white dotted Swiss and magenta velvet.
It may be with a high or a. low neck and
with elbow or long sleeves, as illustrated.
The skirt is full and deeply hemmed at
the lower edge, where it measures about
two yards and a half round in the middle
sizes; it is gathered at the top and falls in
soft, graceful folds from the full, round
waist to which it is joined. The waist
has a full front and full back shaped in

in under-arm and shoulder seams: it is
provided with a high-necked lining fitted

 

by single but darts and under-arm and
side-back gores and is closed invisibly at
the centre of the back. The fullness is
prettily disposed at the top of the full
front in four rows of shitting, the upper
one being at a sufficient distance from
the upper edge to form a trill finish; and
the fullness at the lower edge is drawn
toward the. centre by a short row of
gathers; gathers are also made at each
side of the closing' in the back to draw the
fullness toward the centre. The lining
revealed above the waist with round yoke
effect' is faced with the Swiss, and at the
neck is a close-fitting standing collar.
Very full, drooping pulls that extend to
the elbow, are adjusted over the smooth,
coat-shaped sleeves: they we gathered at
the top and bottom and are tastefully
topped by ripple caps of magenta. velvet.
The caps taper narrowly toward the ends
and are deepest at the centre, where they
droop over the sleev tan point; they fall
in pretty, soft folds, but are perfectly
'smooth. at the top. Tb. waist is encircled
by a. girdle of ”velvet which present-:4:
