The afternoon tea given by Mrs. E.
H. Hotchkiss at her home on Arch
street, Saturday afternoon, in honor of
Miss Carrie Nelson, of Ansonia, and
Miss Laura de Lafayette,'of.Collins-
ville,‘ was a recherche affair, The
different rooms had been prettily em-
bellished with choice flowers potted
plants and chrysanthemums, the latter
prevailing to such an extent that one
could speak of it as a chrysanthemum
tea. .
The prevailing color was yellow which
extended to the table adornments in
both china and flowers. It was alto-
gether an afternoon tea thoroughly en-
joyable and in keeping With the taste
of the pleasing hostess.
