An east-bound fast freight from New
Haven was derailed near the draw-
bridgc over the Niantic river yesterday
afternoon. The engineer of the draw:
bridge had the signals set aginst the
engineer Of the freight, but the latter
evidently did not see them. The
bridge was closed at the time, and
several cars ran off the switch. The
engine and four cars following, cleared
the switch and ran over the bridge all
right, The derailed cars were soon
placed on the track again.
