When the case of Stephen Baldiaek,
charged with stabbing John Potro, was
called before Justice Barrett yesterday
afternoon he changed his plea to guilty
and was fined $1 and costs, which he
paid. ‘
At the meeting of Butler Lodge, last
evening, it was decided not to hold
their annual excursion this summer.
The following officers were elected for
the ensuing year : N. "G., Irving Rob-
ertson ; V. 8., Henry Disbrow; R. S.,
E. C. Caswell ; P. 3., J. O. Seaman;
Tress. H. S. Rood. They will be in-
stalled by Frank Leonard on July 11.
Thomas Mullins, who for many years
was a foreman for William A. Birnie,
the contractor, has accepted a similar
position with George W. Cram of East
Norwalk, where the latter is engaged
in erecting a new under-crossing at
Osborne street. That “Tom” will over-
see the work with credit to himself and
his employer there is no doubt, and his
many friends in these villages will wish
him the best of success in his new posi-

Evidently Mistaken.
He was a polite appearing man, with
