The funeral of Michael Reynolds was

the knob with boat and tub races.
The Jerome May ‘banjo club of six
pieces has also been engaged and will
discourse sweet music both afternoon
and evening.
The semi-annual civil service exami- ,
nation for clerks and letter carriers
will be held at the post office on Satur-
day, August 11th. The age limit for
clerks is from 18 to 40 years, and for
carriers from 20 to 40 years.

The South Norwalk post office com-
menced the use of the new form of
money orders this morning. The orders
can be obtained for any amount from
one cent to one hundred dollars. The
first order was issued to a curio collec-
tor, who will have it framed and keep
it for the edification of his children’s
children. The issuance of postal notes
will be discontinued on July lst. ,

“Speaking of Walter Hall, one of his
vocal pupils--for he trains the voice
now, as well as the digitswcreated a
most favorable impression last Wednes-
day in New Haven, at the Connecticut
Music Teachers association. This was
Mrs. Imogene Ross, solo soprano of the
First Baptist church of SOuth Norwalk.
Mrs. Ross, who is a young, pretty and
attractive widow With a rich, fascinat-
ing voice, sang several songs by Tschai-
kowsky, Chaminade, Vidal and Cantor, .1
accompanied by Mr. Hall; and every-
body was charmed with the singer, the
songs and the accompaniment;
Chief of Police Brown, of Milford,
was in this city this morning looking
for Thomas Tuhcy, who is wanted in
Milford for assaulting his wife, non
support and drunkenness. The assault
was committed Sunday night, after
which Tuhey took a train for this city
where he has been employed. Chief
Brown enlisted the services of Chief
Vollmer and together they made atour
of the boarding houses in the city
where it was thought Tuhey might be
stopping. Their search was without
result, however, but later Chief V0114
mer learned that Tuhey was employed
by Contractor Brown at “Railroad
Cut,” near Bowayton, and ofiicer Pen-
nington found him there and arrested
him. He was taken to Milford on the

the representatives of foreign nations in
~ this city called upon M. Herbette, the
' French enibassador, so soon as the death
of President Carnot was announced. and

addition, the Austrian embassador, Herr
L. van Szogyeny, and the Italian embas-
sador, Lieutenant General Count Lanza,
made calls at the ministry for foreign af-
fairs. The general public of Germany
fully recognize the gravity of the crime
from the political standpoint.
Italian Bourses Closed.
ROME, J une 26.—All the Italian bourSos
have been closed out of sympathy for the
great loss Franco has sustained by the as-
sassination of President Carnot.
