Paddy Callahan was arrested last
night on e charge of drunkenness and
breach of the peace. Paddy was in a
shaky condition when brought before
Justice Barrett this morning, but he
pleaded not guilty and his case was con-
tinued until this afternoon. '
George Croful, who was taken to
t the Bridgeport hospital two weeks ago
suflering from blood poisoning result-

His remains were brought to this city
for interment this afternoon.
“Speeler” Smith went troutiug yes-
terday. This morning he was seen
standing on North Main street filling
the earl of several fishermen with one
of his celebrated fish stories. He re-
port his catch on Friday as being the
largest. made by any trout fisherman
this year. “Speeler” has the reputa-
tion of catching less fish and telling
bigger fish stories then any men in this
city.
Tomorrow evening, at the Congre-
gational church, Rev. Gerald H. Board
will give the second address in the
series on f‘Homely Virtues.” The sub-
will be. “The Directions of Purpose,”
or “What we Live For.” It will be
especially to thinking young men.
The service begins at 7 :30, lasting one
' hour, and including excellent music.
