As Frank Parker, the blacksmith,
was driving down West street yester-
day afternoon, his horse took fright at
a pile of dirt being removed from the
sewer near the Episcopal church, and
shied. In attempting to rein him in
the wheel of the wagon in which Mr.
Parker was sitting, collapsed, and he
was thrown heavily to the ground, dis-
locating a thumb and badly bruising
his head and side. The horse being
freed ran down Washington street to
Solman’s stable, where he was secured.

graphed to the Bridgeport Union that
Col. Frost had severely reprimanded
Lieutenants Shelton and Houlihan, of
Bridgeport, for criticizing their supe-
rior oflicers by stating publicly over
their signatures that the food provided
for. the men at Niantic was of an in-
ferior quality, after their superior ofii-
cers had formally asserted that thefood
was of a superior quality. 001. Frost
merely called their attention to the
matter without reprimanding them in
any way. In justice to the Lieutenants.
however, it might be well to state that
neither of them were aware of the fact
that their superiors had asserted that
the food was of superior quality. ,
