SOUTH NORWALK.
Weak fish are biting and the harbor
is crowded every day with fishermen
anxious to catch the largest fish.
The steamer, “ City of Albany,” will
run to this city next Saturday night
and continue through the season.
The police of this city have been noti-
fied to look out for a Victor bicycle,
NO. 22923, stolen from Bridgeport Sun-
day evening.
The twenty-five prizes which are to
be given for the Alpha bicycle race,
are on exhibition in this city. They
attract much attention.
The committee having In charge the
road race of the Norwalk Wheel Club,
have already secured a large number of
prizes. The race will be held June 17.
The regular monthly meeting of the
Common Council was held last evening.
It was an extra long session. There
was a flood of petitions, communica-
tions, etc.
The work of stringing the wires for
the new Tramway, will begin in a few
days. It IS now quite certain that the
electric cars will be running in a very
short time.
A great bank of fog covered the har-
bor Monday morning up as far as the
propeller dock. It was a curious phe-
nomena with the bright sun shining on
it and hundreds of people stopped on
the lower bridge to look at it.
The case of M. F. Walsh, who was
arrested a few days since for non- sup-
port, was called for nine o ’clock this
morning, but was adjourned. It is
thought that the counsel for Mrs.
Walsh will try to effect a settlement.
The wheel of a wagon loaded with
large timbers, came off near Washing-
ton street crossinglast evening, and let
the load fall to the ground. After con-
siderable delay, another wagon was
produced and the load continued on its
way.
Thirty carrier pigeons, which arrived
at the Adams Express ofiice fr om Pr ovi-
dence, were liberated on the depot
platform at 5 2:5 o ’clock this morning.
After making two circles to get their
bearings they started for Rhode Island
at a rapid rate.
A horse, the name of whose owner
could not be ascertained, became
frightened and unmanageable on North
things lively for some time. The ani-
mal was finally quieted. No serious
damage resulted.
