the electric light works, left town Sat-
urday evening for Matteawan, N. Y.,
where he has accepted a position with
an electric railway company. Mr. Mor-

Residents on Spring and Washing-
ton streets request the health officers
to investigate those thoroughfares. It
is evidently a favorite dying ground
for cats, as we are informed that there
are several of these dead pets along
the side of the road.
Hon. Herman Theile, “ May or ” of
East Norwalk, left this morning for a
week’s trip through Pennsylvania. He
was accompanied by his son- in- law,
William Hoyt, of Grove street. Mr.
Theile took three large trunks in which
to bring home black bears, ancient
Dutch relics, and Pennsylvania trout.
Peter Barry was before Justice Bar-
ret this morning, charged with an
assault on Patrick Mur p.hy Despite
the fact that Murphy testified that he
had only his undershirt and trousers on
when the fight occurred his wife exhib-
ited a white shirt, with the bosom cov-
ered with blood as evidence. Barry
was fined $5. and costs. He took an
apeal and secured bonds of $100.
