It was a decided surprise to the many friends of both parties! who are well- to do people and wellv known in our city. Mr. Walsh was placed under $150 bonds, A. G. To those whose eyesight is defective, or who one desirous of ascertaining whether or not their eyesight is good, we would recommend a call upon Mr. Lazarus, the oculist Optician, who is in South Norwalk for a short period, stop- ping at the Mahackemo hotel. From personal observation we can safely say that this gentleman’ s refraction test of ' the eyesight is by far the most accurate and wonderful that has ever been seen in this, or any other city. By means of this test, the peculiarities or defect in the sight of each eye can be readily discovered separately, and therefore, lenses can be supplied which make the sight of both eyes perfect. It is strange but nevertheless true, that ob- jects that are readily seen with one eye in one position are scarcely discernible by the other eye in the same position. Mr. Lazarus comes highly recommend- ed by eminent people in England and India, in which latter place he was, by appointment the oculist- Optician to the Earl of Dufi'erin, Viceroy and Gov- er-nor -General of India, and is without doubt the greatest oculist now in our country.
