Henry Mitchell of this city last Satur-
day, March 4th. It being Inaugura-
tion Day, the boy was named Grover
Cleveland Mitchell, in honor of the
new President.
Scott Marble’ s celebrated melo-
drama, The Diamond Breaker, will ap-
pear at Music Hall this evening. The
piece abounds with special scenery,
mechanical effects, thrilling situations,
etc., and should be greeted with a
crowded house.
The fire department was called out
at 10.15 this morning, by an alarm
turned 1n from box 3. The fire proved
to be in Fred. Coleman’s news store.
Acandle had been left burning in-a
closet where papers were stored, and
by its being overturned the papers had
become ignited. The flames were ex-
tinguished by a few pailsful of water
before the firemen arrived. The dam-
age was very slight.
Constable Conley and J chin “Wood-
ward” Hines were highly entertained
last evening at the expense of one of
our leading cigar manufacturers and
two young men. Mr. Hines and Mr.
-.Conley were going around to headquar-
ters on business, and John, ever on the
alert for a joke told one of the young
men in question to procure a bonds-
man. Fearful, lest John should be
compelled to remain locked up, the
big hearted young man saw anothe1
friend and together went into the office
of the aforesaid cigar manufacturer,
and informed him. of the predicament
the supposed John Hines to be in. All
three rushed out and around to police
headquarters. Arriving there, they
immediately began overtures for Johns
release, much to that gentleman’ s
amusement, and the merchant’s dis-
gust. The boys felt so ashamed of
themselves that they were not slow in
beatingaretreat and getting out of
sight.

To WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
When we first installed our incandescent
service, we were compelled to make the rates
charged correspond. as nearly as' possible. to
there was no meter that could be used with
confidence that it was trustworthy and acou-
rate.
Meters are now made which are perfect reg-
isters of the current used. and we have resolv-
ed to use them in connection with our entire
incandescent system. from and after April 1,
1893.
After the meters are in we propose to fuinish
light during the entire twenty— four hours
The meter rates will be 20 cents per 1,000
Watt hours, with a; discount of 10 per cent. on
all bills paid at Our office on or before the 10th
day of each month.
An additional discount of 10 per cent. will be
credited at the end of each twelve months, to
customers whose bills for incandescent light
exceed $100 for that time.
Our superintendent, Mr. Yeaton. will give
such further information as may be desired.

weeds and other obstructions; and every such
owner, lessee or occupant. who shall permit

main on such sidewalks to the inconvenience
of public travel thereon, or in such gutter so
as to obstruct the flo v of water therein, 1'01 a
