gained such popularity as an employee
of the Borough, “Paddy’, O’Hara has
accepted a position on the street clean-
ing department of this city.
In his report of the Francis robbery

truck with which to carry away their
plunder, but were frightened off by the
p ilice shortly after getting into the

John Scott died at his home 011
Chestnut street, at an early hour this
morning. The deceased was for a long
time librarian at the public library on
Washin ton street, and was well an
favorab by known by all. He was about?
77 years of age.
Prof. Bartholomew with his troupe
of educated horses and ponies appear-
ed at Music Hall last evening in the
fil st of a three nights engagement. A
good sized audience greeted them, and
all present were pleased with the even
ing’s entertainment.
The Common Council met last even-
ing £01 a special session. Messrs. A. E.
Winchester and Col. Leslie Smith,
U. S. A. were appointed Electric Light
commissioners vice Nelson Taylor and
Edwin Adams resigned. The city debt
was bonded and the meeting then ad-

A horse belonging to C. F. Mather
of West Norwalk met with a painful
accident on Sunday afternoon. He be-
came restless aad 1n moving about the
stable, the beast broke the manger and
his breast was caught on a projecting
nail and very badly torn. A veterinary
surgeon is now caring for the injured
animal.
