Louis Sheldon, whose illness was re-
ported a few days since, lies in a criti-
cal'condition at his home on South
Main street. Hisjrecovery is regarded
as doubtful.
Julius L. Lassen, an old and highly 1
respected resident of Bull Run, died
yesterday morning at his home, in the
81st year of his age. The funeral will
be held from his late residence
Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock.
' A certain young drug clerk, not many
doors from our office, was the victim 01
a cruel Joke. Saturday evening. The
young man in question went into Davis’
store and called for a shirt, size thir-
teen. The clerk in the clothing store
endently took the drug clerk for 9. bit-
by, for, on opening the bundle, the
drug clerk found therein a child’s
shirt, scarcely six inches broad, and
not many more long. He reSponded to
the guylng of the crowd by “setting
’em up ”—to cigarettes.
The final rehearsal of the comedy
drama, ”Down by the Sea,” was held
last Saturday night at Music Hall. It
was a dress rehearsal and showed that,
although the play is to be given by
amateur talent, it will be equal to, if
not better than the majority of the at-
tract1ons that have appeared here this
season. Frank Clark as March Gale
and Tommy Welch as Mickey Finn are
first-class, as are also Miss Brennan as
Mrs. Gale, Miss Harkins as Kitty Gale,
and Miss Bose Flynn as Kate Raymond.
