The Cecilia Bradford Trio gave a very fine concert at the Baptist church last evening. A good sized audience was present, and many commendable remarks are heard regarding the ex- cellency of the entertainment. The cases of Mary Hall and Edward Hubbell for breach of the peace, came up yesterday afternoon before Justice Townsend. Mary was fined,,and went over the road. “Eddie” thought his fine too heavy, and took an appeal. The big bean bake and hop given by Douglass Fowler Post, G. A. R., ast evening was a very merry afl‘air. A good attendance oi people bent on hav- ing a good time, enlivened the occasion and everybody is loud in praise of the evening’s entertainment. Downing’s celebrated Creoles are in town and will show in Music Hall to- night. Anyone wishing a refined, high class show should .see Creoles. The company comprises some of the great- , est. song and dance artists on the stage. Wallace Pelliam, who was arrested yesterday, under instructions from Sheriff Miller of Stamford on the sus- picion that he was the person wanted for some crooked business he had done while employed in a hotel in that town, proved to be the right man. He settled the case, however, and wasdischarged. A New Orleans school teacher, Miss Dora- Miller, has invented a black- board eraser, for which she has been ofi'ered considerable money.
