A man named Langley, while coup-
ling cars at Wilson Point last night, had
his arm and hand severely bruised.
Miss Mary Kane, 3. teacher in the
Middle Five Mile River school, has ac-
cepted a like position in the Henry
street school at Stamford.
John éDrescher went after pickerel
yesterday, and confesses to not having
gota bite. Mr. D.’s confesion is, we
think, worthy of this item.
About 350 boxes Of canned tomatoes
arrived this morning for a Borough
grocery firm. They hope, no doubt,
to catchup with the season.
Some young rapscallions set fire to
several shocks of corn near the Tryon
place in East Norwalk, last night. If
paught they ought to be severely chas-
ise .
Capt. Theo. Smith caught quite a
mess of fish in his cellar on the Wash-
ington street bridge, yesterday. He
fishes through a trap door in his back
kitchen.
Mr. H. Bielefeld, the >New York
clother will open at NO. 12 North Main
street,with a full stock of clothing and
gents’. furnishing goods, on Saturday,
Oct 17th. Read his ad. in another

. A. Bach’s team ran away this morn-
ing on Lowe street, colliding with
Thomas I. Raymond’s team, knocking
the wheel Off of the wagon loaded with
stone. Mr. Bach’s horse was also con-
s1derably scratched.
The funeral Of Mrs. Harmon Beeman
was attended from her late home in
Kent, yesterday. Deceased was 82yrs.
Of age and had lived in Kent over 60
years. Conductor Harley Beeman of
his City is her grandson.
