Washington street to

Wm. D., the infant child of John,

Connell, of Pine street, died yesterday
afternoon. The remains were taken to
Norwich for interment early this morn—_
ing.

The steamer Medea makes a .trip to
Roton Point, at 7 :30 this evening, re-
turning at 10 o’clock. Sunday eve-
ning it leaves this city at the same hour,
returning at 9 O’clock. '

It seemed mighty Odd to see the
“bold soger boys” board the train th1s

morning and no Quartermaster Buxtou

with them. They looked almost as
lonesome as a shirt collar without a
necktie.

Mr. Frank Byxbee and daughter
Julia started yesterday afternoon for a
two or three weeks vacation in Oswe-
go County. New York. They will
visit the following places in that coun-
ty : Fulton, Oswego, Mexico, New Ha-
ven, Texas and Vermillion.

Patrick Savage. mention of whose
arrest is made in another item, was be-
fore Justice Morrell, this morning, on
the- charge of drunkenness, breach of
the peace and resistance to an officer.
He was fined 35 and costs on each
count, amounting in" all to $21.06. '

At the Consolidated freight depot,

this morning,were the following horses

which are entered for the August meet-
ing at the Fairgrounds next week:

A brakeman on the Danbury and
Norwalk railroad got drunk in this city
the other nlght, and was arrested. He
paid a fine and costs and was released.
l‘he next day his wife and four chil-
dren arrived here with their furniture.
The followmg day the fellow was dis-
charged from the employ of the com-
pany. All will no doubt be memorable
days. and it is to be hoped potent of
good results to him. He had, been in
the lEmploy of the company but a few
