placed a mum in his wife’s hand and
seating himself in a rocker, and closing
his eyes and setting his teeth, told her
to cut, and do it quick. As she reach-
: his balance and over he "went, chair
and all, smashing the rocker and jar—
ring the whole block as he struck the
floor, and awakening nearly every guest
'in the house. The corn is yet in full
enjoyment of its resting place on Mr.
Hall’s toe. .
Divorce at Eighty.
‘j Mayor Sargent of New Haven has
tumbled upon a case that has probably
few parallels in the courts of Connecti-
cut. It is the divorce suit of Joel's,
Webb, aged eighty years. He charges
his young wife with intemperance and
intolerablecruelty.
