A Large Death Rate. ,
The death rate so far this month has
been unusually large in the town of Nor-
walk. and it is doubtful if the number
has ever been exceeded. Up to yester~
day there had been thirty-five deaths
since July 1, and Since the last issue of
the SENTIXEL nine persons have died

residing in this city were Theo. Rotter-
mond, 20 years. 6 months, 25 days: Flor-
ence Perry, 26 years, 3 months: Char-
lotte L. Hull, ‘3 months, 11 days; Leon
\\‘. Byxbee, 2 months, 6 days. In other
parts of the town as follows: Ellen Mc-
Coy. Tfilyears: Clara C. (‘raw, 8 months,
24 days: llerbert L. llulse, 10 months.

Lewis Ilechilc, 9 days. The death rate
is much larger among children than ad-
ults, and the physicians all report an un-
usual amount of sickness among the
children, and attribute it in the main to
the extreme heat. It therefore behooves
parents to use all the precautions pumi-
blc as long as it lasts.
